Dear Pebblecreek Montessori parents,

Pebblecreek Montessori will be on spring break from Monday, March 14^th- Friday, March 18^th. The school will only be open to those children who are in AYM extended care (hours 7:00am - 6:00pm).

It is necessary to clarify who is eligible to stay when the school has early release and who is eligible to attend during school breaks when we remain open because there has been confusion surrounding this issue. 

The confusion is a result of our use of the terminology “AYM” which is an acronym for “All Year Montessori” meaning children who are in attendance 12 months a year. When we founded the AYM program in 2002, we only offered full day, full year programs under the umbrella “AYM” to accommodate working parents.

Since that time, we have expanded our programs to include AYM school day (8:00am-3:00pm) and AYM half day (8:00am - 12:00pm) for parents who a seeking a 12 month program, but are not necessarily working, just looking for consistency in schedule. The only difference in the fee schedule for AYM school and half day programs is the length of the service; the children attend school in the summer months, so the payment schedule is different. The amount of money parents are paying for the monthly service, however, remains unchanged. 

AYM school day and AYM half day programs do not include additional hours of care nor do they  include lunch or breakfast. Lunch can be purchased for an additional fee, but it is not included in the tuition.

We have amended our handbook to reflect these changes and clarify the scope our services included. The amendment will be sent to all parents under separate cover along with school calendar for next year. We are in the process of finalizing the calendar; it will be distributed to all returning families next week.   I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience relating to this matter.

In order to adequately staff our extended day programs (7:00am - 6:00pm) for the Spring Break, please indicate whether or not you plan to attend next week and which days you plan to attend. Thank you for your cooperation. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
