Tara Chapman

Elementary Coordinator & Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT)

Montessori Certification: AMS

 

Mrs. Chapman has been an educator for the past sixteen years.  She is a graduate of Winona State University, in Minnesota, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education.  In addition, she earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the area of Curriculum and Instruction-Reading.  She also holds an AMS Certification which she earned at the Dallas Montessori Teacher Training Center.  She began her career teaching the lower elementary grades in public school settings in the states of Wisconsin and Arizona.  She spent six years in the Montessori classroom as a lower elementary directress. 

In 2007, Mrs. Chapman received a graduate level certification from the Learning Therapy Program at Southern Methodist University.  She is a CALT or certified Academic Language Therapist who specializes in teaching children with dyslexia and other related learning differences at Pebblecreek Montessori and in private practice.

Mrs. Chapman is also Pebblecreek's Coordinator for the Elementary program and is responsible for curriculum development, teacher support, and parent education. 

She is the mother of an 11 year old son and enjoys being a part of his weekly activities.  When Mrs. Chapman is not teaching, she enjoys traveling with her family, reading, cooking, and sewing.
