Mrs. Owen received her Medical Assistant Certification from Spencer College in Baton Rouge, LA.  She worked as an assistant to Professor J. David Kirby in the SMU department of dance and also worked in a Dallas private school teaching preschool and dance.  Mrs. Owen joined the staff at Preston Meadows Montessori and earned her MEPI Montessori certification in 1995.  She has been teaching primary-aged children ever since.  She is the lead guide in the Rosebud Room and one of the founders of Pebblecreek Montessori.  She is also the Coordinator of the school's Primary program.  Over the summer of 2004, she received her certification in MACAR: Montessori Applied to Children at Risk. 

Mrs. Owen is the mother of three grown children, a granddaughter and three grandsons.  She is passionate about dogs and loves being in the mountains.
